Challenge Summary

Welcome to the Career Jobsite Sitemap Direction Challenge

This is a NEW type of challenge for Topcoder Design. The goal of this challenge is to quickly create design direction and inputs to build a new sitemap and suggest better page organization and simplify the information architecture of the current Customer Jobsite.

We are looking for you to look over the requirements and proposed navigation flow, and put together high-level information and visual direction that will become input into the UI challenge.

Challenge Description
The new Design Direction challenge is meant to serve as a precursor to a regular UI design challenge or series of challenges. You can think of this as a "FAST Wireframe Challenge", however we are not necessarily looking for full fledged wireframes.

We are looking for additional visual assets and resources that can become inputs into the following design challenge(s). These items could include, but are not limited to: user flow diagrams, sitemaps, quick wireframes of specific or potentially complex screens, UX research and best practices documentation, and user profiles.

We are intentionally leaving things a bit broad as we want you to analyze the high-level concept and requirements of the application or project, and propose and produce what assets and inputs would be the most useful for the UI designers.

Project Background
A company is always looking to give their customers a better user experience by updating and enhancing the user experiences of their websites and applications.

For this challenge we need to get a new sitemap of the customer’s current Career & Jobs Search website.

Design Problem
The current website has all of the necessary information, but it needs to be reorganized in a way to simplify and consolidate.  We are trying to reduce the number of clicks it takes to get to the lower sub-levels of information.  If possible, we would like to reduce the number of pages on the site, and group related categories and information together.

Current Website Sitemap
- We need a thorough analysis of the current site and every single page must be accounted for.  Every element with the domain name - Current Career Jobsite needs to be included in the sitemap.
- Check the current website flow below, we need you to suggest a new design sitemap and wireframe to better organize and simplify the information architecture.
- This is the detailed flowchart of the current website: https://www.lucidchart.com/documents/view/c98a5ee0-8f1d-4550-a813-bb9e413490dc/0

Use Cases
The expected priorities of Career Jobsite  are in this order:
  1. Job Search
  2. Apply for Jobs
  3. Research (Military, University Relations, Benefits, Community Investment, Diversity & Inclusion, FAQs)

Expected Submissions
1). Suggested main changes of the website flow.
Create complete sitemap/flowchart to capture all required pages. We need a thorough analysis of the current site and every single page must be accounted for. Every element with the domain name link needs to be included in the sitemap.

2). Redesign Job Search feature.
Look at the current Job Search function and make an attempt at redesigning it for an improved user experience. (Low Fidelity Wireframes are required for this feature)

3). Reduce click paths to access sub-level information.
See if there are ways that some of the information that is buried in the site can be more easily accessed in the upper levels. Try and reduce the number of pages and make the overall navigation of the site simpler.

4). Introduce Blog, Testimonials, Core Values
In the redesign there are some additional elements that are not on the current site, so please include these on the sitemap:
- Blog
- Testimonials
- Company Core Values

Target Device
We are targeting for a Responsive Desktop/Tablet and Mobile Website application

Target User
Recent college graduates to military veterans to experienced professionals
People searching and researching for Entry Level, Professional & Technicians positions

Deliverable Examples
I think it's important to outline what we are NOT looking for in this challenge. We are not looking for:
- UI Designs
- Full wireframes of every feature, screen, and user flow

What we are looking for. Note: it is not required that you create all of these assets, these are just examples of the types of assets that we are expecting to see:
