Challenge Summary

Welcome to "Veterans Day FUN T-Shirt Design Challenge". In this challenge, we need your help to create a cool, meaningful, attractive T-Shirt Design that will be used as an incentives/reward for Veterans community member that participate in any Topcoder challenges or join the Veterans community in November.

BACKGROUND OVERVIEW
Veterans Day is an official United States public holiday, observed annually on November 11, that honors military veterans; that is, persons who served in the United States Armed Forces. On 2017, Topcoder starts a Veterans Community (https://veterans.topcoder.com/) where military service members and veterans can learn and experience a career transition to the technology area with the world's premier crowdsourcing platform.

To celebrate Veterans Day, we will reward T-shirt to all veterans member that participate in any Topcoder challenges or join the community in November. 

CHALLENGE GOAL
Create a meaningful and attractive T-shirt design that able to reflect the celebration of "Veterans Day" with Topcoder 

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
- Think of a T-shirt design that would individually stand out: it could be an illustration, a typographic creation, something wicked and cool - it's entirely up to you. Design something that you would want to keep and wear!
- No generic graphics, make sure there's something meaningful to your design!
- T-shirt design can be on Front Side only, or Both Front and Back Side of the T-shirt (your choice)!
- Keep it simple, don't overdesign it!
- Remember you are designing for print media. This means no gradients and tries to stay away from designs that are too intricate, as they would be hard to reproduce on fabric.
- This T-shirt design needs pop! It's going to be a prize for a Veterans Member who will want to show them off at events like the TCO, so make it something memorable - think and design creatively!
- We need a great design that prominently features "Veterans Day" and "Topcoder".  The American flag or American type design is welcome but not required.

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
- Place your design into a T-shirt template (Dark and Light colors)
- Avoid using gradient design as this will not look good in print.
- Minimize the use of colors, ideally, use military colors or Topcoder colors. 
- Showcase your design using various T-shirt mockup

- Creativity - The t-shirt should be visually exciting and engaging and should incorporate concepts around Veterans Day celebration with Topcoder.
- Quality - The quality of the graphics as well as following the provided guidelines 

SUBMISSION DELIVERABLES
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place your submissions within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effects, such as drop shadows or reflections.

Submission File
- All requested Contest Deliverables in JPG or PNG file format in RGB color mode at 72dpi.
- Create High-resolution PDF file to show your design

Source Files
- All original VECTOR source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Illustrator, Sketch, Inkscape, or similar programs and saved as layered AI or EPS files.
- Your source files must meet these requirements:
-- The AI/EPS/Sketch logo file with text intact (not outlined).
-- The AI/EPS/Sketch logo file with text in outlined format.

FINAL FIXES
As part of the final fixes phase, you may be asked to modify colors or fonts.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

Screening:

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
