Challenge Summary

Welcome to the "Fintech Startup Coin Metrics Website Design Challenge". In this challenge, we need your creative thoughts to create a stunning website design for our client Coin Metrics, a leading provider of crypto asset market and network data.

Read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. Let us know if you have any questions in the challenge forum!

Challenge Objectives

-     Develop website design based on the input.
-     The design has to be able to be developed as a Wordpress template.
-     7 desktop screens.

Round 1

Submit your initial designs for a checkpoint feedback

Round 2

Submit your final designs with all checkpoint feedback implemented.

Project Background

-     Coin Metrics (CM) is a leading provider of crypto asset market and network data. They deliver transparent and actionable data and analytics to various industry stakeholders including financial enterprises, funds, media, research outlets, and data/application providers. Coin Metrics’ data empowers its clients and the public to better understand, value, use, and ultimately steward open crypto networks.
-     The purpose of this project is to create a new website design for Coin Metrics. Their old website (coinmetrics.io) was created at a time when Coin Metrics was a free and open- source project. They are now a venture-backed private startup looking to expand their data services. Their old website is built on Wordpress and they would like to preserve the back-end.
-     Coin Metrics’ aim is to convey that they are not only pioneering and innovative but also that they are the adults in the room. Coin Metrics is a professional organization that meets the needs of institutional investors and other professional organizations. But they are not flashy. They let the data speak for itself. There is truth in the data but unlocking it requires craft.
-     They are hoping for a clean/minimal but modern design that will allow their website to serve as both a resource to the community (they offer some of their data and research for free) but also act as a funnel towards their institutional-grade network and financial market data products.
-     Over time they will include tables and asset-specific pages fed by their own data/APIs; however, this will be sometime in the future, still, they would like the design to be flexible enough to one day incorporate these. See nomics.com as an example of a site fed with API data and asset-specific pages.
-     Some example sites they like:
-     Nomics.com – showcases how CM might eventually want to display their data
-     Circle.com
-     Refinitiv.com – they like the landing page and navigation menu and the product page templates are excellent (they have modelled our product pages after these)

-     light blue (R:26, G:72, B:91)
-     white
-     grey (R:169, G:169, B:169)
-     grey (R:120, G:120, B:122)
