Background Information
US Foods is one of the USA’s leading foodservice distributors. From the corner diner to the five-star steakhouse, US Foods has helped shape how people eat in America for more than five generations. With a team of more than 25,000 people spanning 60 locations nationwide, they serve independent and multi-unit foodservice operations including healthcare, hospitality, government and educational institutions. They’ve been helping their customers take a fresh approach to food and helping their customers “make it” for a long time, and now here’s your chance to take a fresh approach and help US Foods employees “make it” for their customers.

To revolutionize the US Foods warehouse management process through the accessibility of data, via tablets on the floor. This paradigm shift will allow managers and supervisors to engage in real time while having access to their teams and productivity.

- Digitize existing system functions.
- Break down the barriers (both physical/digital) between managers and supervisors.
- Expose the right data at the right time with a layer of personalization and customization to drive efficiencies.
- Deliver dashboards that are connected through microservices into various integrations,
making the experiences seamless and focused on the data vs. the platforms for the end user.
- Capture the processes, interaction points, pain points and wish list across Warehouse Management, Inventory Management & Transportation Management.

Client Business Objectives
- Increased Supply Chain management time on floor / in field with their employees to more effectively manage the workforce.
- Optimized Supply Chain management workflow to increase productivity and employee satisfaction while reducing costly errors.
- Prioritized management workflow (knowing what needs to be done when it needs to be done).
- Realtime data views on exactly what they need to see so they know what action to take.
- Streamlined execution that allows them to take action quickly and immediately.
- Reduced training time, increase in training effectiveness.

The goal of this application will be to mobilize their employees to have access to the key tools, features and functions they need to do their jobs more efficiently. The development of this tablet application will get people out of offices and on the warehouse floors amongst their teams. They'll be able to access all the key systems they'd have to do from their deck and more. They'll be able to get real time data on everything from statuses around team progress, to inventory updates, be able to quickly input data on team and individual performance, take notes, capture photos of damaged goods or the mishandling of products by an employee. It'll all be at their fingertips.

Very excited to see your design for this challenge!
