Challenge Summary
In these FUN challenge series, we are going to explore the capability of Mendix Modeler tool (WYSIWYG editor) by creating variations of design application that works in real life (only design needed). For our 1st fun design challenge, we are going to create a design and simulate a dashboard that will give the user an ability to tracking the migration of apps in the company that currently in progress or will be active in near future. More details can be found below (in challenge details section).

Project Description
In this Fun Design challenge, we want you to explore and gets familiar with Mendix Modeler tool (WYSIWYG editor) by building a simple tool for tracking the customer application migration status. It would allow someone to add an app for migration to the list, edit the status, have a dashboard with metrics and other stats (e.g. a number of apps migrated this month), etc. It will be very simple and Fun!
Challenge Goal
Build a great and professional dashboard design using Mendix Modeler tool (WYSIWYG tool) to tracking the migration of customer apps.
Design Consideration
- Simple, Clean, Professional, and Modern look and feel.
- Simplicity to find and add necessary information
- Best Practice for Web-Based App (Desktop)
- Easy to understand flow from page to page
- Intuitive for the user; should never be left asking "what do I do next?"
- Easy viewing for pages that may be over overcrowded with information (eg. when hovering over an item will enlarge for easy viewing or similar)

Screen Requirements
For this challenge, we are looking for the below pages to be designed/considered in your concepts. The screen functionality details listed below are suggested functionality for consideration. Do not allow the suggestions below to impact the creativity of design. If there is a better way to accomplish the same goal, then feel free to take creative liberties.
0) How to Use Mendix Modeler Tool
- Create an email using 3rd party email provider (no mainstream email ID like Gmail, Yahoo, etc, because Mendix is not accepting these email ID), I try and use https://mail.protonmail.com and it works (you can use another email provider if you want).
- Register to Mendix using the email account that you just created earlier
- Open the mendix dashboard, and click "Create App"
- Choose "Introduction Tour" -> click "Start Your First App" -> click "Use This App" -> Enter your App name (user your handle for the app name)
- Wait until the backend finish doing the setup for your app, once it's done, click "Edit App" on the right side area of your screen, it will open the Mendix modeler tool
- Follow and watch the tutorial until finished to understand how the modeler tool works
1) Dashboard Screen
- Once you understand how to use the modeler, go back to the Mendix Dashboard -> Create App -> and choose Starter Apps tab -> Blank app -> Use this app -> put name to your app
- Click "Edit App" and using the available feature in the modeler like Pages, Theme Customizer, toolbox, properties, etc, please create a custom design for the Migration Tracking Dashboard. NOTES: we only need to create the UI design, no need for other features like navigation, data domain, etc
- The dashboard needs to have the following content and interactions:
-- User will be able to see the live condition of the migration status for all application
-- Show log/recent activity history that any user doing in the app
-- User should be able to add an app for migration to the list
-- User will be able to edit the latest status of the migration
-- Needs to have a very interactive dashboard with metrics and other stats (e.g. number of apps migrated this month), etc.
-- In terms of data we might like to capture, we can start with the spreadsheet (documentation.xlsx) provided in the attachment, feel free to expand the data and create your own migration tracker data assumption
- After finish creating the design, click "Publish" button to make your app design goes live in the Mendix cloud platform
- After the provisioning done, click the "View App" to see how your design works as a real app. Make sure to take a screenshot of your design (as submission file) and copy + paste the real app link to a text document (as source file) so we can review it.
- Every time you make an update to your design, make sure to click the Publish button -> update button so your design will get updated in the cloud platform
Important:
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphics styles should work together.
- All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance

- Submit a screenshot of your design creation in the Mendix Modeler Tool as JPG/PNG image files
Source Files
- Provide a text file that contains an active link to your PUBLISHED app
Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase, you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.
