Qlik Sense - Fun challenge - Building an app

New technology with a good number of challenges is in the radar. Qlik Sense is the name and it is really an interesting one.

Qlik sense is also one of the best data visualization tools. Data Analyst loves Qlik Senses because of its drag and drop feature. It is designed in the way that user at any level can use it. Managers, analysts, developer, even an end user can use Qlik Sense to make decisions.

We are launching this fun challenge to introduce you to Qlik Sense. So that you can make yourself comfortable for the upcoming challenge on this technology.

This is a fun challenge. We will randomly choose 10 members who submitted a valid submission as winners, each winner will receive $25.

Requirements for this challenge

First of all, Register a trial and download Qlik Sense Desktop, Qlik Sense Desktop only provides Windows version. If you don’t work on Windows, you can also try Qlik Sense Cloud. 

 

Then build an app by following the tutorial provided in the forum. This tutorial guides you through the building of an app from scratch. You start with an empty sheet and finish with a good-looking app!

It is assumed that you are familiar with the basics of Qlik Sense. You know how to make selections and how to interpret the results of your selection. If you are not familiar, check this Beginning with the basic tutorial first, also you can check our previous Qlik Sense fun challenge.

These are some of the subjects in this tutorial:

• Data loading

• App design

• Visualization creation

• Reuse of visualizations, dimensions, and measures

• Data storytelling

When you have completed the tutorial, you should have a fair understanding of the different steps involved in the building of a Qlik Sense app. You will also be aware of some of the necessary considerations related to the design of the app.

What will you learn?

You will learn the following basic knowledge of Mendix from this challenge.

1. How does Qlik Sense work?.

2. How to create an app in Qlik Sense.

3. How to load and associate data in Qlik Sense.

4. How to create sheets.

5. How to create different charts, like a pie chart, bar chart, combo chart, scatter plot, etc.

6. How to create data storytelling (a presentation based on the data in your app).
