Challenge Summary

Welcome to the "JUNO Customer Digital Experience Platform Mobile Concepts Design Challenge". In this challenge, we need your creativity to come up with a UI Design for a digital self-serve tool that serves as a “one-stop-shop” for U.S. customers of our insurer client, that can also be utilized by employees and brokers. In this challenge we are looking into creating the mobile experience.

Read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. Let us know if you have any questions in the challenge forum!

Project Background

  • Commercial Insurers are providing sophisticated digital self serve tools allowing customers access to loss details, policy, billing, multinational premium payment tracking, implementation status and premium audit along with notification functionality.
  • Our client’s customers have consistently expressed interest in digital tools and have explicitly asked for on-demand and centralized access to key insurance information.
  • The purpose is to design a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with enough features and functionality to deliver on key customer needs based on 6 core knowledge areas: Contacts, Policies and Endorsements, Risk Engineering, Claims, Industry Insights and Billing (incl. calendar).

Users/Roles

The application may have different user types which have different permissions, meaning that not all the areas will be available for them. In this challenge though we will concentrate on the master user, who will have access to all the areas.

Screens/Features

Please make sure your design includes the following screens and functions. As we are developing an MVP, only selected functions are required for this challenge.

1. Main Page: Get visibility of relevant and timely information at a glance
  • Links to all modules of the application
  • Links to external and international applications, that are not the part of DXP (Digital Experience Platform)
  • In addition to a quick view of key content, we would like to see a high-level summary of key data points and action items for this user. Please consider the following DATA POINTS (and a design that illustrates the user can click on them for more information): Active Policies <<< For example, this should drive deeper to the policies page, Open Claims, Risk Improvement Actions, Total Exposure. • Please also consider the following ACTION ITEMS: File a claim, Access Claims Insights Tool, Manage my risk (opens “Risk Matrix” on click)
  • My Contacts: Include photo, name, title, function, email and phone number for up to 8 contacts. Please show an example with a “blank” user photo and include initials on an on-brand color of your choosing.
  • Promotional space: To feature 3-5 highlighted features with imagery, title and “Learn more” call to action
  • Events (secondary importance): Calendar of events with image, title, date, time and click for more information/register. Note: event volume will vary, some months/weeks may be lighter.
  • The navigation is important in the experience, so make sure you show a way to get from one page to another.

2. My Policies: Review and manage policies and endorsements
a.)1.a See a summary of my policies and endorsements: User logs in and selects option to view policy/endorsement summary from dashboard or main navigation
  • User should only see summary of U.S. Domestic policies and endorsements based on permissions in initial setup
  • International customers will also see a link to “View my International policies” based on permissions
  • Chart displays a summary of policies and endorsements by LOB, policy period, type (policy/endt), description, symbol and number with link to attachments.
b.) 1.b View policy/endt details: User clicks (link/icon) to view U.S. Domestic policy or endorsement which launches as a PDF
c.) 2.a Report an error/request a change: If user identifies an error on policy summary or attachment, user can click to report it to broker for resolution (e.g, incorrect term)
  • Standardized form populates with policy information, user name/email and user inputs remaining data
  • Email is sent to broker and underwriter
  • Log of requests is generated in the tool
d.) Functionality
  • Filter/sort across summary chart dimensions - Consider the user’s ability to filter the policy data displayed and how may impact other elements displayed on the page.
  • Export summary chart
  • View/save/print
  • attachment(s)
  • Individual and bulk attachment download
  • Click “View my International policies” with seamless login to Policies section on external JUNO systems.
  • Click to report an error on a policy or endorsement

a.) 2.c Gain insight about how the provider can help me manage and mitigate specific exposures
  • User clicks on a specific focus area to view a curated list of
    • Services: Company services and third party services with service strategy, delivery (in person or remote), description and link to 1) More information and/or 2) Contact
      • Standardized form populates with key information and user inputs remaining data
    • Hot Topics: Includes key content such as white papers, checklists, and more applicable to the customer’s industry and the selected area of risk (Title, PDF image and short description with click for more)
    • Though leadership content: Content to be pulled directly from company website (Title, image, date published type (e.g. article, blog, etc) and short description with click for more)
b.) Functionality (Objective 2)
  • Click to request more information/request for an agent or broker
  • Tagged/searchable:
    • Hot Topics, services and thought leadership content
  • “Featured/Recommended/ Popular" call outs
  • You should contemplate the different file types that will feed into each section (e.g. PDF vs. weblink vs. text with a link to more information)
  • In addition to the ability for users to filter by “Area of Risk” consider how they may also be able to filter by “Line of Business”
