Challenge Summary

Welcome to the TCO19 Japan Round 2 Competitive Programming Design Challenge!

The goal of this 2 Hours challenge is to create a new concept design for our current Competitive Programming Homepage. This is your chance to speak up and show us how that page should look and what would you like to see on it.

This challenge is for TCO19 Japan Round 2 Competitive Programming Design Challenge Attendees, Japan ONLY.

In this challenge we are looking to redesign the Topcoder Competitive Programming homepage. We've been using it for a long time and our members have asked for many improvements. As an algo competitor and/or as a design competitor, this is your chance to show us how great this page can turn out.

A couple of items we would like to see included are:

- All time leaderboards (with links to see country wise leaderboard and college wise)
- Last six month leaderboard
- Number of forum posts leaderboards - to motivate contributions
- Last Match winners with their photos
- Last Match editorials
- Last Match results with analysis as on (match archive)
- Latest News
- Latest Forums Posts

When designing, please think at the hierarchy of information. What is most important (to a competitor) and should be shown above the fold (on top part of page)?

These are just some suggestions, but we are open to your concepts and any other new suggestions to make this better. Creativity is one of the judging criteria.. We are providing a rough wireframe to use for guidance.

DO NOT copy the wireframes (if you do.. everyone's designs will look the same!) focus on creating your unique approach to this project and the user experience.

Entries must be your original work, and must not infringe on the copyright or licenses of others. All standard Topcoder Terms, Topcoder Policies apply to this challenge.

The style is open to you as a creator: it can be minimalist, modern, etc. so you don’t have to follow the existing Topcoder GUI KIT.

Branding Guidelines
- Up the designer. Open to suggestions.
- Font usage is up to the designer.

Design Tools

You can use any design program you wish: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, XD, etc.

Are you New to the Design World?

If you have never opened a design tool before and have none installed on your computer, you can download and install Adobe XD very quickly and then check out this short tutorial we did to get started. The application is intuitive design wise and it will be easy to design in it.
