Challenge Summary

Welcome to GA Store - Crowdsourcing Learning Database Concept Design Challenge.

Group Audit team (finance industry) is looking forward to creating an application that helps them create, collaborate and find the documentation needed to perform audits. It’s a crowdsource-based knowledge database that must be made available to all the members in an intuitive fashion.

We need you to add a good amount of thoughts to the information architecture, navigation and user flow of this data-intensive universe, translated into a seamlessly modern user interface.

Round 1

Submit your design for a checkpoint feedback.

01. Home page
02. Search

- Please provide a MarvelApp Presentation (see details below).
- Make sure all pages have correct flow! Use correct file numbering. (00, 01, 02, 03)

Round 2

Submit your final design plus checkpoint feedback.

01. Home page
02. Search

- Please provide a MarvelApp Presentation (see details below).
- Make sure all pages have correct flow! Use correct file numbering. (00, 01, 02, 03).
Challenge Objectives
  • To create UI screens.
  • To provide a seamless flow to complete user goals.
  • Web application (desktop only).

Problem
  • Group Audit does not have easy access to key business documentation from all regions needed for audits, which has caused the following issues:
    • Lack of sufficient knowledge sharing.
    • Information is spread out over several locations.
    • Limited access to key business documentation.
    • Access to key documentation is lost with employee turnover (i.e., key person dependencies).
    • Additionally, the current SharePoint, despite the improvements made, has a centralized control in the operational enablement team and does not provide an exchange of knowledge between each member of Group Audit, serving only as a repository of published documents.
  • The current solution is not well suited for our modern data requirements such as house crowdsourced items/innovation, e-learning, and informational resources, methodology resources, audit tools, people blueprint and passport.

Solution
  • Create a simple, easy and interactive crowdsourcing information-sharing database that allows the exchange of best practices and insights within Group Audit at a global level through concept design exploration in this exercise.
  • We aim to cover the following scenarios:
    • Testing procedures and expected results for IT and Business processes;
    • Fact Find information;
    • RCEs;
    • Audit Reports;
    • Business Information;
    • Insurance industry Information.
    • Real-time interaction between the GA team members which would include chatting technology (e.g., Chatbots, “Likes” and ”Dislikes”, Comments and Chats, etc.
  • We can consider this exercise a success if it considers the following criteria:
    • Ease of use and relevance to their day to day work and development.
    • The app has the potential to become the go-to-place to find information, who-to-ask what among your colleagues, tools, links, etc. – Perceptible by the traffic of the site and download of tools/information.
    • Provides a useful space for the gamification of training: Badges, points, leaderboards and community involvement incentivize the online training experience for even the most jaded learner.
    • Allows space for: Learning in the Flow of Work – “people who understand the basics of their jobs but want pinpoint information, technical answers (…) or quick answers to questions they face right now”.
  • We are still implementing the site using MS SharePoint after this design exercise, but we do need a more creative and thoughtful fashion to deliver this information.

Screens/Features
Overall
  • Take a look at the provided mockup for a reference. The ‘x’ represents elements to be ignored: hot topics and library - do not include them!
  • The mockup is a rough basic reference, we aim to see a similar concept in terms of out of the box layouts. We don't expect this to be a ‘dashboard’ like design, but more like the ‘House’ or the ‘Office’ of the department.
  • Add conscious information architecture thoughts to organize and propose the best flow possible to make this information easy to find and collaborate.
  • You should not mandatory follow the proposed screens below, you can have more or less, organized in the way that YOU think makes sense.

01. Homepage
  • The landing page of the application, it should cover navigation to all sections as a first-sight glimpse of the most important tasks the user can perform.
  • User should be able to see summaries of the different sections as well as possible interactions or notifications of the most prominent items.

02. Search
  • User should be able to search for all types of available content. Structure the page to ensure that content is always easy to find.
  • Considering the amount of data, there should be some sort of filter in order to facilitate users to filter the results and easily obtain the information needed.
  • Display search bar, search keywords (parameters) and results page.

Other Features Available (Just for your information - out of scope)
  • This portal will work as a binder to several integration parties such as SharePoint, Facebook Workplace, TBC and others.
  • Content Creation:
    • The app should allow content creation for everyone considering the collaborative editing scenario.
    • Open to any member to create content through pre-defined templates (a blank page or a customizable template) and the possibility of collaborative content editing.
    • Content creation and edition should consider multimedia, dynamic content to add some personality to work such as images, videos, and GIFs.
  • Teams:
    • User should be able to create teams and personal spaces.
    • For example related to Finance & Tax, IT & Operation, Regulation & Legislation among others, as well as personal spaces (like a blog).
  • File versioning:
    • User should be able to manage and author multiple versions of documentation in a single space.
    • Add or update pages and publish the appropriate version when the final version is released.
    • Inline, page and file commenting: Ability to highlight the text you want to comment on and choose to add comment (include and save coment with trail)
  • Integration:
    • To allow users to download information in an organized way, including download more than one file a time - dummy text links.
    • Third party integrations: Consider the workplace by Facebook to interact between comments, likes and content rating.

Screen Specifications
  • Desktop: 1280px width. Height as much as needed.
  • Apply mobile-first design principles to smooth out the transition to the future mobile version.
  • Make sure your work is in a vector format, for retina scaling and high fidelity.

Branding Guidelines
  • Follow the supplied branding document.
  • Use a placeholder for the logo.

Design Assets
Folder: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Z8o3TtdBJzH8vBHbF6g-4B-6RWFE_G2D
  • Mockup: visual representation of the universe of possible information of the application.
  • Branding Guidelines: style, layout, color and typography guides.

Target Audience
  • Finance audit related personel.
  • The persona is someone who does not have time to lose but at the same time would like to have all the information in one place and in an organized way.
  • The individual feels irritated when the audit begins and need to collect a lot of information (prior audits data, ongoing audits from the same process or related industry and articles related to the theme) from different sources.
  • Additionally to that persona is also someone that likes to read and very curious.
  • This persona, if junior, might not know where to start in looking for the information and might not have the contacts in the function if sitting in a “remote” country.
  • This persona might wish to interact easily to create content available for all to use.

Judging Criteria
  • How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually.
  • How well you implement the challenge requirements.
  • Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
  • Creativity and ease-of-use is key to the success as it must be engaging to users.
