Project Background
During the year there are several holidays that are celebrated in US and across the world. Our customer would like to wish their users different greetings, on their website when these moments come, so they would like us to create 4 animated greeting cards. They will be displayed both on website and mobile (iOS and Android).

For this challenge we are focusing on the following Holidays:
  • New Year
  • Valentine's
  • Mother's Day
  • Father's Day / Dads & Grads
Note: feel free to come with any text/wish for these greeting cards

The designs must embrace the Novus brand and the animation should be created using the Bodymovin extension, in After Effects, so the developers can easily add them on the customer’s website and retain the quality as well. The design should uplift spirit as we enter a time of celebration and also fun. We are looking for animations that are exciting for the user.

Design Details
  • Make the designs engaging and relevant to the specific theme
  • Use the customer’s logo
  • The design can be focused around the logo or can be open to your imagination
  • Only use vector format in your design
  • Be creative! We want to see some awesome designs for the holidays!
  • Before designing, keep in mind the supported features (or link) from lottie framework so your design can be easily animated

Animation Details
  • Length can be from 3 to 15 seconds, the shorter ones are preferred
  • Aspect ratio: 1:1, 1:2 or 2:1

  • Make it attractive!
  • The animation can be saved as a GIF or any video formats (.mpeg,. mov, .avi, etc.) for preview purpose ONLY.
  • It’s mandatory to generate the JSON file from After Effects and show us the preview online. The animations that won’t look good in the Lottie preview, won’t count, as in the end, that’s the deliverable format we are looking for.
  • Be creative and have fun!
  • Here are a few Lottie animations for inspiration

What is Bodymovin and How to Use It
  • Bodymovin is an extension of Adobe After Effects that can export an animation into JSON file, which can then be loaded on a website.
  • Lottie is a mobile library for Web, Android and iOS that parses Adobe After Effects animations exported as JSON with Bodymovin and renders them natively on mobile!
  • Bodymovin is compatible with After Effects CC (2014) 13.0 - CC (2019) 16.0.so you need to use one of this versions of After Effects for the extension to work
  • Here’s a step by step guideline on how to install the Bodymovin extension (don’t forget to do all the steps after installation as well) or follow this video guide
  • Once you have installed the extension, you can export your animation in JSON format and preview it here: https://lottiefiles.com/preview
  • Here’s a few tutorials on how to get started with Bodymovin and Lottie: tutorial 1, tutorial 2

Branding Guideline
  • We would like you to follow the Novus branding as attached here
  • The primary colors should be the ones that you see in the Color Guideline.doc, but other secondary colors are also fine
  • Use the customer’s logo

Target Audience
  • Novus customers
