Challenge Summary

Challenge Summary
Welcome to the "(FAST) Salesforce Dashboard Design Challenge". In this challenge, we want you to design Dashboard page for Sales and Service for these 2 different type of users:
  • Sales User
  • Service User
This dashboard will build on Salesforce. Make sure you are following general Salesforce Lightning Design System on this web site: https://www.lightningdesignsystem.com/getting-started/

Read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. Let us know if you have any questions in the challenge forum!

Background
We will be designing the  screens for a telecom company. This company has 2 types of user profiles
1. Sales: These folks sell phone/mobile connections/SIM to customers (customers here are companies (B2B) whose employees use these services hence the money generated by each customer is high).
  • They look for “My Opportunities” to find new customers and track existing customers contracts. Hence the opportunities will have information like:
  • customer name, contract value etc in opportunities screen.
  • They look at My Cases to see if there are any conversations they had made with customers, or if customers had raised any complaints/Questions etc. The conversations of emails, phone calls can be recorded here as a case
  • The sales folks track meetings in Events. This is nothing but their outlook calendar integrated to salesforce
  • Next Best Actions: This is where we need your creativity. While we have created the above 3 screens, how do we combine the data we get from the above 3 screens and derive insights?
  • Whole of Customer View: This is the parent dashboard. It will just display information from the above 4 screens in 1 place. With ability to filter.
2. Service: These folks manage relationships with customers.
  • They look at My Cases to see if there are any conversations they had made with customers, or if customers had raised any complaints/Questions etc. The conversations of emails, phone calls can be recorded here as a case.  Conversations can be made by sales and service folks with the same customer, but each team will see its own data.
  • Track meetings in Events. This is nothing but their outlook calendar integrated to salesforce.
  • Next Best Actions: This is where we need your creativity. While we have created  the  above 2 screens, how do we combine the data we get from the above 2  screens and  derive insights?
  • Whole of Customer View: This is the parent dashboard. It will just display information from the above 3 screens in 1 place. With ability to filter.

2. Next Best Action - Sales
  • The objective for this component is to recommend potential sales based on certain criteria and should operate something like this:
  • Propose a list of potential sales
  • Allow the user to open the recommendation for further information and either accept it or deny it
  • Denying will prompt the user on why the recommendation isn’t valid close the recommendation
  • Accepting the recommendation will create an opportunity and launch the user into the opportunity creation flow
  • Some initial criteria for next best action will be:
    • Customer due for renewal/contract nearing expiry – message something like “Customer A has a mobile contract due for expiry in the next 4 weeks”
    • Product portfolio gaps - message “Customer B doesn’t have any mobile products”

  • Alert user that an action is required to maintain or remediate customer health
  • Allow the user to open the alert for further information and recommended action plan with the ability to accept and initiate the activity(s) or deny
  • Denying will prompt the user on why the recommendation isn’t valid close the recommendation
  • Activities and follow on actions will vary based on the scenario, some examples are below
  • Potential scenarios and actions:
  • Previous customer NPS score is below 7 – Launch action to contact customer and capture interaction notes
