Challenge Summary

Welcome to the “Data Analytics Platform (DAP) Logo Design Challenge”. In this challenge, we are looking for the design community to help in designing an eye-catching logo and logotype (“DAP”). This logo that you are designing is for a Data Analytics Platform.

Note: If you create multiple design concepts, please make individual submissions.

BACKGROUND OVERVIEW
This logo will be used to represent a Data Analytics Platform supporting medical research and development work.

AUDIENCE
The audience will be researchers, data scientists, clinical scientists, and non-data scientists who are looking for insights about medical data.

DESIGN CONSIDERATION
Concept, composition, and simplicity will be taken into serious consideration in the selection process (see judging criteria below). Most great logos share some characteristics; they are clean, simple, and easy to remember. The winning logo will be used in various environments. For example: web portal, PowerPoint, Email communications, newsletters.

REQUIREMENTS
Your logo needs to follow the below requirements

  • Your complete logo design should consist of an icon and the word “DAP.” The icon may be used both with the typography and as a standalone icon.
  • We are looking for something futuristic related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, insights, medical, saving lives.
  • Positive Impressions: Logo should be Professional, they like simple designs, easy to remember and recognize, contemporary. Clean design... like the NASA logo.
  • Negative Impressions: Your logo should not be flowery, overdone, childish, unprofessional, etc
  • Designs must be created as VECTOR artwork so they can be resized without a loss of quality. Make sure your logo quality is not diminished when scaled up or down.
  • You need to make sure your logo looks good in light or dark backgrounds.
  • Provide an outlined version of your logo
  • The logo should encapsulate the message of the logo design within three seconds of the first glimpse. Anyone who sees your logo for the first time should retain that image in their memory.
  • Please submit the logo in All Color (show them in black and white backgrounds) and also create in Black & White versions
  • It also should provide in the format of eps, png, and tif. With one transparent background, one white and one black background."
  • Let us know what your idea behind the design process is as a text file/notes in your submission.

BRANDING GUIDELINES
FONT:
Please use a font that is similar to “Karbon” in your designs.
COLORS: We have provided the colors to be used, please follow that palette.

DESIGN INSPIRATIONS
Explore some logo design inspiration websites, look for simple images or typography that convey a sense of competition. A good logo should be; simple, distinctive, relevant, memorable, timeless, and versatile - and most importantly your own design. Use these references as inspirations only.

JUDGING CRITERIA
Your submission will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Relevance:  How does your logo "fit" this brand?
  • Quality: Does your logo look fresh, professional, and clean? Is the composition/layout well done? Have you used typography in a meaningful way?
  • ���Concept: Does your logo present a new and interesting concept? Is it simple, yet memorable?

MARVEL APP

  • We are NOT going to use MarvelApp for this challenge.

SUBMISSION & SOURCE FILES
For submission you have to upload a zip file that contains the following 4 files:

Preview Image
Create a preview image as one (1) 1024px by 1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File     
Export a JPG/PNG image file(s) of your submission
Place these files into a "Submission.zip" file.

Source Files
All source files of all graphics created in vector format in either Adobe Illustrator or any similar software should be saved as editable files. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.

Your source files must meet these requirements:
1) The AI/EPS logo file with text intact (not outlined).
2) The AI/EPS logo file with text in an outlined format.

declarations.txt – All your declarations and notes
This file must contain your notes if any, fonts, and stock art declarations.

FINAL FIXES
If your submission wins, you may be asked to modify your design, graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
