Challenge Summary

Welcome to the "RUX - Firefly - Agent Connect Platform Web App Design Concepts Challenge". The ultimate goal of this challenge is to create a responsive web design that will allow the Insurance agents to answer surveys and provide concrete feedback for the app they use for work (Agents use specific apps while meeting or interacting with their customers). Based on the outcome of the surveys/feedback will allow the Insurance company (client of this challenge) to improve their IT systems and provide best experience to the Agents and reduce the rework cost on agents IT systems.

What is RUX Challenge?
RUX (Rapid User Experience) challenge uses the same format as our famous LUX Challenge, except it is not "Live" at an event. The RUX Challenge Series provides you with an opportunity to show digital leaders from some of the largest companies in the world just how good your concept and user experience (UI/UX) design skills are.

RUX (Rapid User Experience) challenges are fast, fun, and have more chances for you to capture prize money!

Note: You do not need to have RUX challenge experience to join this challenge - Just jump in and give it a try! Make sure to follow the challenge details, and ask questions in the challenge forum.

CHALLENGE OVERVIEW
The customer of this challenge is an insurance company, selling various types of insurance products across different categories like automobiles, homes, small businesses and also provides financial services products. Backbone of their business is their agents who bring in business - this “Agent Connect” is specifically designed for the agents who are the best representatives to give feedback on apps as they bring on-field knowledge about customers and competitors alike towards what will work with customers and what will improve their productivity.

The client’s Business and IT team will use this ‘Agent Connect’ platform to communicate with their agents, to bring in a better experience with agents, reduce rework costs on their agent IT systems, and lead to higher agent satisfaction. ‘Agent Connect’ will allow the client to on-demand leverage the expertise of their agents towards making products better.

Below are some of the goals:

  • How well does your design align with the objectives of the challenge
  • Minimize the total number of screens while keeping the experience intact

TARGET AUDIENCE
We are looking to design screens for 2 types of users:

  • Agent: The insurance agent helping in promoting and selling insurance products and services to its customers.
  • Admin: Insurance Business and IT team who are responsible for all Agent communications and building/maintenance of IT applications that are necessary for Agent experience and productivity.

EXPLORATION SCORE
In terms of expectations, we would like to measure the concept against the following in the one to ten scales (ask the client to rate each of the parameters)

Creativity: 8

  • 1: barely new ideas
  • 10: a utopic product with features not proven to be able to be fully implemented

Aesthetics: 10

  • 1: low-fidelity design, wireframe or plain sketch
  • 10: top-notch finished looking visual design

Exploration: 8

  • 1: strictly follow an existing reference or production guideline
  • 10: open to alternative workflows/features not listed here that would help the overall application

Branding: 8

  • 1: don’t care at all about the branding just functionality
  • 10: without a properly branded product there is no success

REQUIRED FEATURES:
Following are the few key features of the ‘Agent Connect’ Platform:

  • End-User Experience: Capture feedback from agents on new apps early in the development lifecycle
  • Ideate: Leverage the extensive experience of agents to get the best ideas on beta apps, services
  • Functional Testing: Real-world testing by real-world users (agents) to make the end deliverables foolproof
  • Surveys and Polls: Launch surveys and polls within the agent community to get feedback on existing processes, apps
  • Product Enhancements: New features, functionality from Agents which will enable better end customer/agents experience
  • Collaboration: Forums to allow agents’ collaboration on new policies, insights on competition, what’s trending with customers

SCREEN REQUIREMENTS
For this challenge, we are looking for you to create an engaging user experience based on the details provided. Apply modern user interface design techniques and be bold in your decisions - this challenge is about pushing boundaries and trying new things!

A. Agent:
01 Agent Home:

  • Show the list of potential tasks that they can participate in with the task/challenge prize amount or points.
  • Allow the user to use a filter and sorting features, this will allow the users to filter the  list based on the type of challenge, for example: “product features validation, new business ideas, polling, Beta testing, ratings, etc.”
  • Top Forum Feeds: This is a feature similar to Topcoder messages/forum and can display the top feeds.
  • ‘How to’: This could be a knowledge base where Agents can get access to IT applications Videos, Guides, and other helpful notes for them to know how to use the agent platform and other business applications to be productive.
  • Show their total summary of the rewards so far for the year (rewards could be in the form of dollars and as well as points).
  • Link to other IT business systems (like salesforce)
  • Anything else do you think would be helpful here? Feel free to include it.

02 Task/Challenge Page:
This is a page that shows specific details about the challenge, for this challenge - we would like you to show a couple of types of challenges “Beta Testing and Survey”

02 1 Beta Testing

  • Include a screen with one of the challenge types, show “Beta Testing”
  • Name of the Beta Testing
  • Show a summary of what is expected and how to access it
  • Show the awards they will receive if they win this challenge, it can be in dollars or points.
  • Need to show on what basis/criteria the submissions will be evaluated.
  • Any Informational guideline on what devices, browsers, and other conditions that they can test it on.
  • Need to show how much time is still left for the agent to submit their solution.
  • Include any attachment and findings that an agent will need to see in order to understand the current challenge
  • Agents can share their findings and attachments.
02 2 Surveys and Polls
  • Name of the survey
  • Show a summary of what is expected out of this survey and how they could help by answering the survey.
  • Show the awards they will receive if they win this challenge, it can be in dollars or points.
  • Need to show on what basis/criteria the submissions will be evaluated.
  • Show the list of Survey questions
  • For each of the question, show possible options
  • Provide a textbox for additional comments
  • Once done, provide a button to submit the survey.
03 Agent Profile Page:
  • Include all the necessary features that you think will be useful from an agent perspective.
  • Some basic features will include Thumbnail Photo, User Name, Email, Contact Number, Total Award Summary (this could be in cash prizes or points)
  • Provide options to edit their profile.

B. Admin

  • This is the admin homepage that allows the admins to view the list of all challenges they are part of.
  • Charts/Graphs (Data visualization) of total users, active participation, the performance of the agents, response time to Agents questions, agents time spent on the platform, etc.
  • You can show a grid with the list and include the necessary details that need to be shown.
  • Allow the user to filter and sort through the list.
  • Summary of payments made.
  • Include a button to allow the user to create a new challenge.
  • User profile creation/ setup link
  • Payment module link

05 Launch a Challenge
This page should allow the user to create a new challenge

  • Allow the user to select the type of challenge (product features validation, new business ideas, polling, Beta testing, ratings, etc)
  • Allow the user to enter the summary of what is expected out of this challenge
  • Allow the user to enter the award, choose the type of award they want to give (pricing or points), and specify the prize or points.
  • Think about how the user will add the “criteria the submissions will be evaluated”.
  • Informational guidelines: what devices, browsers, and other conditions that they can test it on.
  • Allow the user to enter the time limit.
  • Provide the ability to select files attachments
  • Provide the ability to search and select particular agents (community members) or they can be able to select all or groups. This will help admins assign the challenge to specific

  • In a RUX challenge, this screen is the way to showcase your concept so keep it simple and make it look good!

  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
