Challenge Summary

Welcome to 2020 TCO Caribbean and South-Central America Design Challenge!

The goal of this 2 - Hour Design Challenge is to create design concepts for a new mobile application - The New Normal Travel Advisor. This mobile application should provide an intuitive experience that helps users to create travel itineraries that are safe from COVID-19.

We are looking for your design concepts to be very simple modern mobile design using the latest mobile design patterns and a “mobile-first” thought process.

This challenge is for TCO20 South America online attendees ONLY.

Entries must be your original work, and must not infringe on the copyright or licenses of others. All standard Topcoder Terms, Topcoder Policies apply to this challenge.
User Story - The "New Normal"
The world is living under a known “New Normal” condition in which nations differ on the mechanisms to control the COVID-19 virus from spreading. Evidently, this affects every single aspect of life for people. Traveling, for instance, suffers from the uncertainty of circulation readiness and allowance among different states and countries.

Delfina is in Bariloche at this moment. She wants to visit Machu Picchu by the end of the month. However, she doesn’t know if she is allowed to travel there. Is it safe?

Some countries closed their borders, some of them allow traveling. How does Delfina know this information at a glance? Moreover, applied to the purpose of her whims and this mobile application, what is the current state of travel in her country? If there is a possible way to get to the destination, what is the best way? By bus, by airplane?

Based on this user story you have 2-hours to create the home/dashboard screen to help solve Delfina’s problem: travel, feasibility, indication and itinerary.

Screen Requirements

1. Dashboard
- The user needs to get from point A to point B. How does the application capture this information? Location, date, any other data?
- The user should be informed of the status of travel of her immediate area (allowed/restricted/needs permission / etc). Also of the desired route after entering the initial data.

2. Search Results
- What does the user see after she enters the information? In case traveling is possible for her itinerary, how do you present this information? Text? Map?
- Consider the context for the relevance of information. What does Delfina care the most about? Price? Travel feasibility? Transportation medium (bus/airplane/llama)?
- What other information or interactions can be added to the dashboard screen? You can add more data or more screens to complete the user flow.
