Challenge Summary

1-Hour Rapid UI Design Challenge!

Welcome to the TCO20 Southern Asia Regional Event "Seed" Design Challenge. This challenge is the first challenge to "place" designers in our bracket-style Rapid UI Design Tournament!

The goal of this challenge is to "seed" the designers (you) into the Rapid UI Design Tournament. Take a look at the design problem and submit your design! We are not expecting the design task in this challenge to take more than an hour.

Showcasing your concepts and skills in this challenge will determine your entrance in the design tournament and who you will initially face one-on-one!

The goal of the provided design problem is to analyze the user experience and provide a design concept and visual solution on how the application might look and work.

At Topcoder we are always pushing you to think about the user, the human experience, and being bold in your design decisions. Take some risks and have fun designing!

ALL TOPCODER DESIGN RULES APPLY. Entries must be your original work, and must not infringe on the copyright or licenses of others. All standard Topcoder Terms, Topcoder Policies apply to this challenge. Your design must be created by you and original to you. You are allowed to be inspired by design research but copying and submitting someone else's designs is against Topcoder policies and will not be tolerated.

PROBLEM: THE NEW NORMAL PLANNER
The world is living under a known “New Normal” condition in which nations differ on the mechanisms to control the COVID-19 virus from spreading. Evidently, this affects every single aspect of life for people. Traveling, for instance, suffers from the uncertainty of circulation readiness and allowance among different states and countries.

You would like to take a vacation during the pandemic (to the sea or mountains) but due to COVID-19, you are not sure if it is safe or what travel is possible. Design the UI for a mobile application that helps instruct you on the best place to travel within a radius of 500km, with the lowest number of cases of COVID-19 and any warning/restrictions you need to be aware of to help you travel safely (and have a great trip!)

  • What matters to the user planning travel?
  • What information is helpful for the traveler?
  • Do not just create a travel application - focus on the problems to be solved.

SCREEN REQUIREMENTS
1. Dashboard
  • The user needs to get from point A to point B. How does the application capture this information? Location, date, any other data?
  • The user should be informed of the status of travel of her immediate area (allowed/restricted/needs permission / etc). Also of the desired route after entering the initial data.

2. Additional Screens
  • What else is important to the user in this application?
