Welcome to the "Odyssey Banking App - Account Dashboard Design Challenge". This is the 2nd challenge from the Odyssey Banking App project, in the previous challenge, we already create the necessary screens for security and customer dashboard (summary information), and in this challenge, we will create new screens focused on the account dashboard for both Odyssey Online Banking (via Responsive web app) and Odyssey Mobile Banking (via Hybrid Mobile app).

Round 1

Submit your initial designs for checkpoint feedback (both Online Banking and Mobile Banking)

CHALLENGE OBJECTIVES
  • Create 5 User Stories and related UI/UX screens for Account Dashboard in both Odyssey Online Banking application (Responsive Web App) and Mobile Banking application (Hybrid Mobile App)
 
BACKGROUND OVERVIEW
  • Our goal in this project is to create strong direct relationships with our customers. We want to provide everything - a blended bank, preferential banking for their family, and open to non-banking services via our digital app (Responsive Web App and Mobile Hybrid App)
  • This project goal is to create two banking applications for the Odyssey customers:
    • Odyssey Online Banking (Responsive Web App), and
    • Odyssey Mobile Banking (Hybrid Mobile App in iOS and Android)
  • This challenge will focus on creating UI/UX screens for one of the important feature which is Account Dashboard for both the Odyssey Online Banking (Responsive Web App) and the Odyssey Mobile Banking (Hybrid Mobile App)
  • The Account Dashboard will consist of 5 major user stories that need to be simulated, they are:
    • Account Dashboard View
    • Transaction History
    • Account Settings and Dashboard Update
    • eStatements
    • Lending/Loans 
 
TARGET AUDIENCE
  • Individual or Business Customer that already open a Bank account and want to use the Online Banking and/or Mobile Banking Features
 
PERSONA
  • Name: Robin Williams
  • Occupation: Car Repair Shop Business Owner
  • Goals: Applying for a New Loan to expand his business and Monitor his current loan 
  • Frustrations: Need to apply for new loan for expanding his business but not sure if he can apply for it because he did now know his current loan situation and not able go to the bank to check with the situation because he is busy taking care of his business
  • Wants: Find information about various loan products that the Odyssey Bank offers via online application and apply for a new loan and ability to check his loan current status/situation and whether its a good move or not to apply for a new loan

  • Modern, Simple, and Clean design
  • Seamless Navigation and enhanced Features
  • Reduce the number of interactions required from users as much as possible
  • Use color or great visual comparison to highlight a comparison of important information
  • Intuitive for the user; should never be left asking "what do I do next?"
  • Easy viewing for pages that may be over overcrowded with information

In terms of expectations, we would like to measure the concept against the following in the one to ten scales:
  • Creativity: 7
    • 1: barely new ideas
    • 10: a utopic product with features not proven to be able to be fully implemented

    • 1: low-fidelity design, wireframe or plain sketch
    • 10: top-notch finished looking visual design
  • Exploration: 6
    • 1: strictly follow an existing reference or production guideline
    • 10: open to alternative workflows/features not listed here that would help the overall application

    • 1: don’t care at all about the branding just functionality
    • 10: without a properly branded product there is no success
 
SCREEN REQUIREMENTS
01) Account Dashboard View
  • Under “Account & Cards” left navigation
  • As a customer, I should be able to view the Default view of my Account dashboard when I click on Account and Cards option in the left pane, so that I have access to Account level information
  • As a customer, I should be able to click on the Help link, so that I view the tips and tricks for dashboard navigation
  • As a customer, I should be able to Main account related details without drill down, so that I view the important account details together
  • As a customer I should be able to view my Active accounts and closed accounts highlighted separately (different colour or greyed out), so that I can distinguish between them
  • As a customer, I should be able to select Closed account from the Top pane, so that I can see the relevant Closed account information in the bottom pane
  • As a customer, I should be able to view the Updated view of my Account dashboard which I have configured when I click on Account & Cards widget, so that I can view the preferred layout
  • As a customer, I should be able to view the Debit Card linked to the selected current account, so that I can view the card's details
  • As a customer, I should be able to click on the Debit Card, so that I can view the card's details
  • As a customer, I should be able to view the latest Savings and Current account Interest rates being offered by the bank
 
02) Transaction History
  • Under “Account & Cards” left navigation
  • As a customer I should be able to see the last 3 recent transactions - both Debit and Credit, for the account selected on the top pane, so that I can view the selected account's transactions
  • As a customer, I should be able to click on 'View Other Transactions' so that, I can search for particular transaction
 
03) Account Settings and Dashboard Update
  • Under “Account & Cards” left navigation
  • As a customer I should be able to go to Accounts Dashboard settings through Profile, so that I can land in the Account Dashboard setting screen
  • As a customer, I should be able to configure the details displayed on the dashboard, so that I set my preferences for the Dashboard view
  • As a customer, I should be able to view the Demo for Dashboard settings, so that I understand on how the dashboard can be updated
  • As a customer, I should be able to view the Account Settings option in the Account Information Drill down, so that I can view the account settings screen through this
  • As a customer, I should be able to view the Account Settings screen where I can update Account details, so that I can update the account settings through this screen
  • As a customer, I should be able to view the Account Settings screen where I can update Account details, so that I can update the account settings through this screen
  • As a customer, I should be able to Initiate Account closure through Account Settings screens, so that I can self close the selected
  • The solution must allow customers to self-close an account with a credit balance within 14 days of opening without penalty via online bank/mobile app
 
04) eStatements
  • Under “Account & Cards” left navigation
  • As a customer I should be able to view a link (widget) for eStatements, so that I can navigate to eStatements page by clicking on it
  • As a customer, I should be able to navigate to the eStatements screen, where I can view the eStatements available for each of my accounts with the bank
  • As a customer, I should be able to the eStatements available under each account I select, so that I can access the statements account wise
  • As a customer, I should be able to the have a search available for eStatements so that I can successfully view and download the eStatement for a particular time period
  • As a customer I should be able to view the Statement of interest earned in the eStatements screen, so that I can access this information any time
 
05) Lending/Loans
  • Under “Loans” left navigation
  • As a Customer, I shall be able to clearly view the current interest rates for my loan accounts, as well as the Base Rate, so that I can have a view of the rate fluctuations
  • As a Customer, I should be able to see the my current Loans with the bank, so that I can have a clear view of all my loans
  • As a customer, I should be able to view details of a Bridging Loan I taken from the Bank, so that I can have a high level view of Loan details
  • As a customer, I should be able to view details of a Commercial Loan I taken from the Bank, so that I can have a high level view of Loan details
  • As a customer, I should be able to view details of a Personal Loan I taken from the Bank, so that I can have a high level view of Loan details
  • As a customer, I should be able to view details of a Property Loan I taken from the Bank, so that I can have a high level view of Loan details
  • As a customer, I should be able to view details of a Development Loan I taken from the Bank, so that I can have a high level view of Loan details
  • As a customer, I should have the option for 'APPLY NOW', so that I can apply for a new loan with the bank

SUBMISSION AND SOURCE FILES
Submission File
  • Submit JPG/PNG image files based on Challenge submission requirements stated above
  • MarvelApp link for review and to provide feedback
  • Declaration files document contains the following information:
    • Stock Photos Name and Links from allowed sources
    • Stock Art/Icons Name and Links from allowed sources
    • Fonts Name and Links source from allowed sources
 
Source Files
  • All source files of all graphics created in either Sketch (Primary Tool Recommendation), Adobe XD, Figma, or Photoshop and saved as an editable layer
 
FINAL FIXES
  • As part of the final fixes phase, you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and final fixes (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
