GLOSSARY
MET = Member Experience Team
Channel = The medium in which we are interacting with the member
Property = The specific system or manner being used to interact or support the member
Service = The action being taken by member or on behalf of the member to fulfill a need
CHALLENGE OVERVIEW:
Our client is Wellmark and they are a leading health insurance company based in the US. HealthSparq is one of many customer-facing Wellmark digital properties that we are looking to analyze. We are wanting to better understand the interactions and experiences that our customers have with a given property. We believe that the measures defined in our requirements will help to paint the picture of the member experience.
AUDIENCE:
Various Wellmark employees who are part of the Member Experience Team.
DESIGN GOALS & PRINCIPLES
Below are some of the goals:
-
Power BI compatible design, see reference section for more information.
-
Elegant, clean, simple, user-centered look and feel with modern aesthetics
-
Use color, visual comparison, and drill-down charts to highlight comparison.
-
Overall UI design and UX should be engaging and easy-to-use.
-
How well does your design align with the objectives of the challenge?
JUDGING CRITERIA
-
Creativity: Impactful; the solution is different or unique from what is already out there and can be implemented.
-
Exploration: Flexible; follow the provided screen requirements section and propose improvements or different paths that positively impact the user goals.
-
Aesthetics: Hi-fidelity design; provide a top-notch finished-looking visual design.
-
Branding: Flexible; follow the provided guidelines and suggest improvements where seem appropriate and in line with the goals.
BRANDING GUIDELINES
For this challenge you need to continue working with the same Look and feel of the design provided on this Marvel prototype. You will find the source file in the supporting document section. Considerations:
-
You need to keep the same aesthetic and look
-
Your new charts and visualizations needs to be fully compatible with Power BI
-
You are free to change the software. Provided file is a sketch but you are free to use your own tool as long as it is a vector oriented app: Figma, Adobe XD, etc.
POWER BI REQUIREMENTS
-
All principles of good UX design e.g. minimize user clicks, make the experience more intuitive, minimal time to reach desired selection criteria, store user selections for multiple reports and performance, good color and font themes, etc, these are all critical success factors for this challenge.
-
Must follow Power BI Design Best Practices and also take a look at the Design Goals and Principles
-
Please do some research on the Power BI software and get familiar with its purpose, limitations, and what's possible.
-

SCREEN REQUIREMENTS
1) Measurement Framework | Experience Measures | Identifying
As a MET User of the Measurement Framework Dashboard I Want a Channel/Property/Service Switch Experience Measures captured; so That Experience Measures can help identify opportunities to improve member experience.
This page would work as a Dashboard with a mapping summary of all the acceptances criterias found in this document. These criterias are:
AC1 - InteractionTypes must be grouped by Channel, Property, and Service Values
AC2 - Correlation Interactions must be grouped together using correlationID
AC2.1 - All distinct 'interactionTypes' under a single ‘correlationID’ must be grouped together.
AC2.2 - All switches that occur under a single ‘correlationID’ must only count as 1 channel switch.
AC2.3 - 'createdDatetime' from the latest 'interactionType' during the correlated interaction should be used as the datetime value for the member interaction.
AC3 - When interaction contains SessionID (details.sessionId)
AC3.1 - All distinct 'interactionTypes' under a single 'SessionID' must be grouped together .
AC3.2 - All switches that occur under a single 'SessionID' must only count as 1 channel switch.
AC3.3 - 'createdDatetime' from the latest 'interactionType' during the session should be used as the datetime value.
AC4 - Must be able to determine how many Wellmark Channel/Property/Services a member visited within a given time frame
AC5 - Must be able to identify the Wellmark Channel/Property/Service the member went TO and came FROM
AC6 - A Channel/Property/Service switch must consist of a Member switching from a Wellmark Channel/Property/Service to another Wellmark Channel/Property/Service. As an example, a switch from one Interaction Type to another Interaction Type WITHIN the same Channel is NOT a Channel Switch.
2) Measurement Framework | Experience Measures | Filtering
As a MET User of the Measurement Framework Dashboard I Want a Channel/Property/Service Switch Experience Measures captured; so That Experience Measures can help identify opportunities to improve member experience.
We need to use the same filters from PowerBI, same as used in the previous design. Please see the Marvel prototype link from the Branding section.
The following are the filtering criterias:
-
Must be able to filter based on a reporting window of time as well as filter on a Channel/Property/Service time period
-
As a MET user, I'd like to see the number of Channel Switches that occurred within a 6 calendar day time period at a specific reporting window (i.e. from 1/1/2020 - 3/1/2020)
-

-
Channel/Property/Service Switch filter must allow for a filter up to and including 30 calendar days.
