Multi Factor Authentication(MFA) with DICE ID

At Topcoder we are committed to the security and privacy of our members and customers and introducing MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) on the Topcoder Platform is a step towards that.

We are implementing MFA on Topcoder Platform with DICE ID.

What is DICE ID?

(Decentralized Identity Credential Exchange) ID is a Blockchain based
Decentralized Identity management solution from Wipro.

It enables users to own and control their Identity in the digital world without compromising security and privacy. It acts as a wallet where users can store their verifiable credentials and the user can present these credentials to verify their identity.

Leveraging the blockchain technology, Verifiable Credentials establish trust between the parties by guaranteeing the authenticity of the data and attestations, without actually storing any personal data on the blockchain.

How does MFA using Decentralized Identity work?

Issuer

Issues credentials to the user based on the available information given by the user.

User

User’s information is stored in a secured wallet and the Issuer issues the credentials to the user and Verifier grants the access.

It enables individuals, organizations, and machines to hold their identity in a secured wallet.

Verifier

Responsible for verifying the credentials to grant/deny access accordingly.

Why DICE ID for MFA?

DICE ID acts as a digital wallet which allows the user to store their digital identity as verifiable credentials which can be used to verify their identity when presented to the issuer.
