What is Topcoder Discord?
The Topcoder team is stoked to announce the launch of the Topcoder Community Discord server. With over 1.6 million tech-savvy Topcoder members, we developed a Discord server with the intent of having a space for our members to collaborate and stay up to date with all things Topcoder. Don’t get it twisted though. The Topcoder Community Discord isn’t all about business and tech topics. No. It’s a space for our community members to engage in amusing chats, play games, share their personalities, and hang out with other Topcoders. Here we guide you to your way of engaging in Topcoder’s 80+ Discord channels.
How To Join
Click the JOIN DISCORD button
Click Register
Complete Create an account form then click Continue (note: Username must be same as Topcoder handle/username)
Verify Email
Click Continue to Discord
Fill login credentials, click Login
Click + symbol in the top left corner of the sidebar
Click Join a Server
Copy and paste Topcoder Discord server invite link (https://discord.gg/topcoder) into INVITE LINK box
Click Join Server
Download Discord app on desktop/mobile device or open discord in your web browser
Verify yourself in #👋 | new-friends channel

Things To Know
Roles, XP, and Levels
The way we use roles in our Discord is to give you the ability to unlock channels that are relevant to your interests and also to broadcast your Topcoder Discord Rating, which is based on the XP you earn here.
Note: your rating in Discord is separate from your rating on the Topcoder platform.
How To Earn XP
1. Chatting - The easiest and simplest way to earn XP is to chat! Be engaged in the channels and accumulate experience. When people see that you are @Jedi Master they will know what an all-star you are in the Topcoder Community. Be sure to check back often as we will randomly turn on 2x or 3x XP!
2. Special Events - Every so often we may launch a contest or survey to earn bonus XP!
Here is the list of all of our roles that are achievable for now:
@TCO Champion - The only way to achieve this role is to win one of the main events at the annual Topcoder Open.
@Youngling - All Discord members who have verified themselves.
@Padawan - Discord members who reach Level 10
@Jedi Knight - Discord members who reach Level 25
@Jedi Master - Discord members who reach Level 50
We are in the process of creating a Topcoder-centric mascot and roles to make our Discord one of a kind.
Rules
Topcoder Discord is a place for fun and not for work. Do NOT make requests looking to get work done. That should only be done on the Topcoder platform.

Treat everyone with respect. Absolutely no harassment, witch hunting, sexism, racism, or hate speech will be tolerated.
No Advertising. No spam or self-promotion (server invites, advertisements, etc) without permission from a staff member. This includes DMing fellow members.
No NSFW content. Anything involving gore or sexual content is not allowed. NSFW = Not Safe for Work. That includes profile photos, emojis, etc.
No spamming in text or VC. Do not spam messages, soundboards, voice changers, or yell in any channel. Spamming gets blocked by the bouncer. We do not care for this kind of energy.
No malicious content. No links to viruses, crash videos, or spamming others in DM. Security will kick you out of our community and put you on a black list.
If you see something against the rules or something that makes you feel unsafe, let the admins know. We want this server to be a welcoming space.
